« UTOPIE ET QUOTIDIENNETÉ. Entre art et pédagogies» est un projet du Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, initié par le collectif microsillons, en collaboration avec Katya García-Antón, directrice du Centre. Ce projet ambitieux et expérimen- tal entend ouvrir un débat, à Genève et en Suisse, sur le possible rôle des artistes dans le processus éducatif, dans et hors des institutions. Il s’appuie sur la pratique d’artistes et de collectifs qui placent une réflexion sur la pédagogie au cœur même de leur travail, investissant les zones de contact entre art et éducation. L’exposition propose également des pistes pour penser la médiation (pratique associée à la mis- sion d’éducation des institutions) comme un mouvement discursif où puisse prendre place une critique constructive de l’institution, comme un laboratoire sur la culture
et la société, plutôt que comme un moyen de réduire l’incompréhension entre des œuvres d’art et un public.
Trois artistes ou collectifs ont été invités à développer des projets avec des acteurs locaux. Le fruit de ces collaborations sera présenté dans l’exposition, du 27 novem- bre 2009 au 28 mars 2010, au deuxième étage du Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève. Le travail réalisé souligne la dimension sociale et politique de ces pratiques qui amènent l’art contemporain et ses institutions à devenir un espace privilégié de réflexion, de transformation et d’expérimentations éducatives. Les trois collaborations sont les suivantes :
– trafo.K (Vienne) et Gabu Heindl (Vienne), en collaboration avec la 8. Klasse de la Deutsche Schule Genf.
– Nils Norman (Londres) et Tilo Steireif (Lausanne), en collaboration avec la HEP (Haute Ecole Pédagogique) de Lausanne et le CIRA (Centre International de Recherche sur l’Anarchisme).
– Damon Rich (New York) et Oscar Tuazon (Paris), en collaboration avec des habitants et associations du Lignon.
Outre le résultat de ces collaborations, de nombreux projets déjà réalisés par d’autres artistes seront présentés, sous une forme documentaire. Ils seront articulés autour d’une série de questions, s’appuyant sur une recherche théorique, questions qui seront mises en forme dans l’espace.
Trois Gazettes ont été publiées pour accompagner le projet.
“UTOPIA AND THE EVERYDAY. Between art and pedagogy” is a Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève project, conceived by the microsillons collective in collaboration with the Centre’s director, Katya García- Antón. This ambitious, experimental project aims to open a debate, in Geneva and Switzerland, about the role of artists in education, both within and outside artistic institutions. It draws on the practice of artists and collectives for whom a reflection about teaching methods lies at the heart of their work, and explores points of contact between art and education.The exhibition also proposes avenues for reflection on the role of mediation (a practice associated with the educational mis- sion of artistic institutions) as a discursive movement in which constructive criticism of these institutions can take place: a lab- oratory on culture and society rather than as a means to reduce misunderstanding between works of art and the audience.
Three artists or collectives were invited to develop projects with local partners, and the fruit of their work will be presented during the exhibition, which takes place from 27 November 2009 to 28 March 2010, on the second floor of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève. The three partnerships were as follows:
– trafo.K (Vienna) and Gabu Heindl (Vienna), in collaboration with 8. Klasse of Deutsche Schule Genf.
– Nils Norman (London) and Tilo Steireif (Lausanne), in collaboration with the HEP (Haute Ecole Pédagogique) of Lausanne and the CIRA (Centre International de Recherche sur l’Anarchisme).
– Damon Rich (New York) and Oscar Tuazon (Paris), in collaboration with the inhabitants and associations of Le Lignon.
Besides the results of these partnerships, a number of earlier projects undertaken by other artists will be presented in documentary form. They will be structured around a series of questions based on educational theory, which will be brought to life in the space.

«UTOPIE UND ALLTÄGLICHKEIT. Zwischen Kunst und Pädagogik» ist ein Projekt des Centre d’Art Contemporain Genf und wurde vom Kollektiv microsillons in Zusam- menarbeit mit Katya García-Antón, der Di- rektorin des Centre, initiiert. Das ehrgeizige Experiment will in Genf und landesweit eine Debatte darüber anregen, welche Rolle Künstlerinnen und Künstler im Bildungs- prozess in und ausserhalb von Institutionen spielen könnten. Es setzt bei der Praxis von Künstlern und Kollektiven an, die das Nach- denken über pädagogische Fragen ins Zentrum ihrer Arbeit stellen und sich mit den Berührungspunkten zwischen Kunst und Erziehung befassen. Die Ausstellung schlägt auch Pfade der Reflexion ein, die erlauben, die Vermittlung (eine Tätigkeit, die man mit dem Bildungsauftrag von Kunstinstituten ver- bindet) als diskursiven Prozess zu verstehen, in dem auch eine konstruktive Kritik der Institution Platz hat, und zwar mehr im Sinn eines Versuchslabors für kulturelle und ge- sellschaftliche Fragen denn als Mittel zur Senkung der Verständnisbarrieren zwischen Kunstwerken und Publikum.
Drei Künstler oder Kollektive wurden einge- laden, gemeinsam mit lokalen Akteuren Pro- jekte zu entwickeln. Das Ergebnis dieser Zusammenarbeit wird vom 27. November 2009 bis 28. März 2010 in der Ausstellung im zweiten Stock des Centre d’Art Contemporain in Genf gezeigt. Die realisierten Arbeiten unterstreichen die soziale und politische Dimension solcher Vorgehensweisen, welche die zeitgenössische Kunst und ihre Institutionen zu einem privilegierten Raum der Reflexion, der Transformation und der erzieherischen Experimente werden lassen. Die drei Gemeinschaftsprojekte sind :

Neben den Resultaten dieser Gemeinschaftsarbeiten werden auch zahlreiche be- reits realisierte Projekte anderer Künstler in dokumentarischer Form vorge- stellt. Sie sind um eine Reihe von Fragen herum angeordnet, die auf einer theoreti- schen Untersuchung basieren, Fragen, die im Raum Gestalt annehmen.
Drei Gazettes wurden veröffentlicht um die Austellung zu begleiten.
